AREDS stands for the Age Related Eye Disease Study sponsored by The National Eye Institute. AREDS was designed to discover whether taking high doses of Anti-Oxidants and Zinc had an effect on macular degeneration sufferers. They found that it indeed did – the formula they used slowed AMD by 25%!

The AREDS Formula

The AREDS formula included specific vitamins and minerals, including:

• 25,000 International Units(IU) of Vitamin A/15 mg Beta-Carotene
